Modernism Week

Following a successful listing in the National Register of Historic Places in 2023, Marie established a partnership between the Joshua Tree Retreat Center and Modernism Week to offer historical walking tours of the JTRC campus for the first time in the Center's history. The sold-out tours welcomed over 500 guests over two days.

Featuring the largest collection of Lloyd Wright buildings in the world, campus highlights included a tour of the most intact coffee shop style building in all of Southern California (Water Terrace, 1955) and prime examples of desert masonry and Lloyd Wright organic architecture (Caravansary, 1947).
