ABOUT
Marie Bobin

Marie Bobin is a creative producer, cultural strategist and arts management consultant with over 15 years of experience working with non-profit organizations. As the Program Director for the San Bernardino County Arts Council, Marie established the Morongo Basin BIG READ, securing four National Endowment for the Arts grants and developing 75 free public programs for multi-generational audiences. She forged lasting partnerships with 40+ educational institutions, Tribal Nations, non-profit arts and environmental organizations, tourism and military agencies, and local businesses, resulting in the building of the largest coalition of partners working together in California's high desert. During her tenure, she produced the first bi-county State of the Arts Summit for San Bernardino and Riverside Counties, and designed and implemented an arts-driven community outreach strategy in support of the 2020 Census, increasing census participation in the most geographically isolated areas in the region.

As the Deputy Director for the Joshua Tree Retreat Center - Historic District, Marie served as a strategic thought leader, developing and implementing a post-Covid reopening plan, restoring and surpassing pre-pandemic income levels. She was also responsible for designing and managing JTRC's Artist Residency and Docent Tour programs.
Before moving to the Southern California desert, Marie was the Creative Producer for the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles where she developed film, theatre and lecture series focused on fostering human connections and building a more just society.

Marie holds a Master's Degree in International Arts Management from HEC Montreal and SMU, and a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Studies from Emerson College. She is a Center for Civic Policy and Leadership Fellow and was recognized as Cultural Contributor of the year in 2022 by the Basin Wide Foundation. Marie is proud to serve on the board of the Joshua Tree Foundation for Arts & Ecology.
